ROBUSTA
Il caffè Robusta ha un gusto deciso, più amaro e corposo rispetto all’Arabica. È la seconda specie più coltivata al mondo, apprezzata per la sua intensità e la crema spessa che dona all’espresso. Scoperta nel XVIII secolo in Congo, la Robusta è resistente alle malattie e cresce rapidamente in ambienti difficili, dalle pianure africane al Sud-Est Asiatico. Viene coltivata tra i 200 e gli 800 metri di altitudine, spesso in zone assolate, e produce chicchi di colore giallo-bronzo. ARABICA
Il caffè Arabica è la varietà più pregiata: aromatico, profumato, dal gusto morbido, leggermente dolce e con una nota acida ben bilanciata. È ideale per chi ama miscele eleganti e raffinate. Originaria dell’Etiopia e coltivata per la prima volta in Yemen, cresce tra i 900 e i 2.200 metri nelle zone tropicali, dove il clima è mite e stabile. Più delicata della Robusta, richiede condizioni ambientali precise e una tostatura attenta. È diffusa in America Centrale, Sudamerica e nelle regioni montuose dell’Africa orientale, dove produce chicchi pregiati e fragili, ricchi di aromi complessi.
